My name is Logan Parker. I am citizen scientist, nature photographer, and fledgling naturalist residing in Central Maine. All my life I've been fascinated by the natural world and all those that reside in it. I plan to use iNaturalist to chronicle my efforts to study nature and work towards conserving the varied forms that populate our planet. I believe that a love for nature and a commitment to thoughtful stewardship of the environment should be indivisible.

With ancestral ties to the stewards of English moorlands and valleys, a passion for nature and conservation may well be in my blood. I spent most of my childhood outdoors observing birds, catching frogs, and collecting insects. At six I was determined to know all of the dinosaurs, but these days it's birds that have captured my heart. Although I'm interested in flora and fauna of all kinds, "the things with feathers" are my primary area of focus. Specifically, I'm focusing my efforts on the Eastern Whip-poor-will.

I've worked in conservation for most of my adult life and am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Sustainable Natural Resource Management at Unity College. Between work and study, I regularly participate in citizen science projects around New England monitoring birds, bats, and amphibians. My free hours are spent birding, reading, rummaging through the woods, and wading through swamps.

My primary influences are Aldo Leopold, Bernd Heinrich, Rachel Carson, David Attenborough, and the handful of local birders, photographers, and biologist that have generously shown me the way.
