I live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

I just love nature-camping, canoeing, fishing, sitting around the fire & socializing, photography, etc. I also like collecting wild mushrooms and consuming them. I would like to learn more about mushrooms.

Every year I try (and most of the time, succeed) to spend many months camping and canoeing in Ontario and the USA. In the winter and fall I prefer vacationing for several weeks in Cuba, as I don't like winters and I'm not into winter activities at all.

In addition, I like reading good books, watching good videos and movies, finding out more about other countries and cultures, researching local history and blogging.

Because I am interested in so many things, I call myself a "generalist" and I have never focused on just one hobby or activity.

I also enjoy observing animals in the wilderness. I have been a member of the South Peel Naturalists' Club for over 15 years. When I was in my teens (or even younger), I was often meeting and associating with a lot of top entomologists and watched them as they were observing, catching and identifying insects. It was quite interesting, but I never got involved into this particular hobby.

My education has nothing to do with nature-the only university course I took in this area was "People and Plants"-fascinating, by the way! So, I know very little about species identification and the nomenclature I use may be wrong. Feel free to correct me!
