Approx. 3 hour trek through Prout Road Park near Mount Petrie. Occurred the day after an approx. 5-10mm rain event.

Notable species include:

• Kingfisher (Sacred Kingfisher?) spotted low down, roosting on a branch over the path
• Squirrel glider (first identified through a call which was recorded, then seen but not photographed)
• Koala (call heard but not seen)
• Boobook owls (several heard but not seen)
• Numerous different spider and insect species identified on some of the large trees at a summit clearing (-27.530675,153.1414805556)
• Large deposit of unidentified mammal/marsupial droppings located on a path
• Significant number and variation of weeds located at a large pond/lake to the west of Prout Road Park
• Only a few large cane toads.

Approx. 3 hour loop through Daisy Hill Reserve near Priestdale. Occurred the day after an approx. 40mm rain event.

Notable species include:

• Squirrel glider (seen but not photographed)
• Several scarlet-sided banjo frogs, located on paths
• Numerous huntsmen, including a very large grey huntsman near a pond, and a very large 'trapdoor spider' (species undetermined as of yet)
• Many, many cane toads (ie. hundreds). On a walk one week ago along the same path and at the same time of day, I only saw 1
• Unknown frog (audio recording uploaded). There was a chorus of this species in a dry creek bed filled with loose leaf litter, though none could be seen
• Net casting spider egg sac.

Short walk in Toohey Forest around noon. The lack of observable animal life always amazes me at Toohey - it seems rather desolate compared to other similar reserves around the south of Brisbane.
