一年生半伏地草本。
[草本 - herb, 是指沒有木質化的莖，而是以較柔軟的草本莖支撐的植物]
…全株有粗毛；紅褐色枝條，揉碎後汁液為黑色；葉片對生，兩邊成狹翅狀，全緣或稍有細鋸齒；白色頭狀花，中部為淡綠色管狀花、披針形或線狀長圓形；楕圓形而扁的褐色瘦果。
