An Osprey dropped this after being harassed by a gull and it almost landed on my head
Seems to have flown in from off the water, was immediately chased by a peregrine, survived to tell the tale. habitat was barrier beach, or in other words, not hoary bat habitat.
4 individuals; no adult males; others photographed their distinctive slender "breadstick" rostra; minimal amount of white scars
Somewhere NE of Hudson Canyon I believe. 4 individuals. Others obtained photos of distinctive thin ‘beak’. Identified by Tom Johnson.
Harsh "WOW" calls recorded faintly and occurring from 5-30 seconds; later seen briefly running down the mountain slope.
