Hiding among alder (Alnus incana) catkins at pond edge (see last photo). Beetle collected as voucher to identify. It is female (last abdominal segment tridentate). Length is 13.5 mm. From the host (?) plant, Alnus, and the form of the elytra tips, it is probably D. pugionata, "infrequently collected" and known from Connecticut.
