Pinnules notably stalked 2mm clear of stipe. Stipe green to pale brown with scattered scales. Scales on rhizome heart shaped brown quite broad. Juvenile plants with ovate pinnnules. Basal pinnules not reduced or only slightly so. Fertile pinnules up to 10mm wide with some at base of frond broader more like infertile pinnules.
