This is the mottled sculpin (cottus Bairdi). I know this a sculpin because was 3 inches long. Then it has a broad head, then it is concave between the eyes. Then it is brown large blackish mottling and fine pale fleckling above, and white below. then the fins are roundedand serrated at the tips.
The weather on this day was sunny with some clouds in the sky. Then the high tempature for the day was 63 degrees and a low of 28 degrees fahrenheit.
Then this sculpin will eat aquatic insects. This mottled sculpin can be found in lakes, rivers, and streams. It can pretty much be found in any freshwater enviroment.
Then other water insects will doing and worjking in wolf creek was the mayfly nymph, stonefly nymph, water penny larva, and blackfly larva. These insects I found would all be something that the mottled sculpin would eat.
