Habitat: water collected with marine algae (e.g. Ulva). Salinity unknown, but presumed brackish or saltwater.
Using stage micrometer for calibration, cell estimated to be about 72 µm long.
Found in stream. Features seem to match the genus Dactylobiotus based on this key: https://sun.iwu.edu/~tardisdp/keypage12.html.
This is 100% a tartigrade I found on my roof. It still lives there haha.
Tardigrada, Eutardigrada.
Found on lichen (Xanthoria parietina & Teloschistes sieberianus) growing on walnut tree.
Collected moss from beech forest, soaked in water for ~30 min, then roughly bashed up moss in water and looked for tardigrades. Saw 3 individuals. (Amazingly cute!)
