Seems to start off as pink fluffy looking. Largest one around 7cms across. Photo of small specimen showing where it was attached to the log.
Effused-reflexed Yellow tooth fungus. From top appears striated with black and white portions. Growing near base of trunk on a fire affected acacia-circled in final photo. Similar examples seen on fire affected gum trees with caps striated in various greys.
Largest/most complete of 6 specimens on site (excluding a possible resupinate /crust that may be connected). Approx 60 cm across. Some visibly on small stumps, others based below damp soil and leaf litter. Possibly on roots of an African mahogany removed some years ago. Photo 1 top view; appears truncated, perhaps mown at some stage. 2. Front, less damaged side. 3.top of one lobe. 4. Toothed underside of one lobe near top .5. Toothed underside of an older, lower lobe. 6 Separate mid sized specimen. 7. A younger specimen. 8. Very young, all teeth (1mm measures). 9. Old, damaged specimen, almost flattened.
