Any thoughts on this would be very helpful. Only mountain viscacha seems to be probable as a medium-sized mammal in this area but as far as I can tell the ears of this animal seem too long and hunched-down position in the grass seems unusual for this species too. It appears to me more like a lagopus ssp. but only Andean tapeití seems to occur in this region which also doesn't match this animal's appearance.
