A single specimen in flower. Happy that this specimen is C. bartlettii, as the back of column is dark coloured and the callii stalks are margenta. The sepals are also obtuse compared to the apiculate sepals of C. variegata.
another single specimen like the one spotted an hour or so earlier... This specimen looked a bit further along, possibly finished flowering, hard to tell on such a grotty day... =)
Bill believes that this group of specimens are what are known as the tag name suggests. In my view for good reason, all the other Caladenia sp. that were noted over the last couple of days were far further advanced in their phenology. The only exeption is C. chlorostyla which can be dismissed due to the obvious almost horizontal bract about mid way up the stem, not seen on these specimens. C. alata & C. bartletti, are mostly finished flowering with only a few still in flower. This colony would be at least tree weeks from blooming, therefore likely to be the suggested entity.
