Today I let this mosquito suck my blood so I could take a picture for World Mosquito Day. Thankfully, I don't have to worry much here about mosquito-borne diseases like Malaria (or yellow fever, which is what this kind of mosquito transmits).

Satiated Aedes albopictus cannot fly! The top of a collection tube is a good place to take a diagnostic photograph showing the white stripe down the center of the thorax.
