Robust Velvet Gecko (Oedura robusta) near Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Photographed on 16 December 2007
Field Notes - Most of the geckoes we see here are Nebulifera robusta, but this is quite different with its yellow dots across a dark brown matrix. This one has lost its tail so we cannot confirm from that, but we have heard gecko barking noises since, and we do not have any Asian geckoes here.
Field Notes - Almost always find these when we clean behind picture frames
Single animal sighted on a wet rock at a domestic residence approx 25m from the nearest creek. Rock was <1m from ground level.
Field Notes - Brown toad or frog? About the size of a tennis ball found hopping around the carport no doubt looking for some water as its rather hot and dry at the moment.
