Drama. These guys all normally get along pretty well, but here a squirrel decided to start something and nearly got kicked in the head as reward. Moments later they were back to munching sunflower seeds side-by-side again.

For years, since I first read of disk-winged bats, I've been peering into unfurled leaves of heliconias and prayer plants in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil. Today I finally scored – Thyroptera tricolor, Spix's Disk-winged Bat! The five species of this genus have tiny suction cups by their thumbs and heels to cling to the inside of these leaves, where they live during the day.
Juvenile falcon had been chasing an eastern rosella. Then photos are screen shots extracted from a low quality phone video of falcon flying off.
I don’t know if taking this home was the right thing to do but it was found on a beach where if I had not taken it it would’ve been lost forever or broken apart, if you have any idea what I should do with it please let me know! Really cool find, it was found under the high tide line way below what I think was middens.
Two healthy 15 day old chicks banded by kokako specialists. Nest in a thick thicket of supplejack. Parents close by visited the nest as soon as the chicks were returned.
