Plenty of seed available at the base of plants, the pericarp already apparently removed by rodents. Growing with Senecio riddellii, Monarda fruticulosa, and Schizacrium scoparium.
Leaving this observation location open bc I want people to be able to harvest seed and grow the hell out of this species. Seeds require a hot stratification. Sow in spring and they'll germinate in fall. Seed is basically mature April 10th. Plenty of already ripe fruits beneath the tree as they fall off, as well. Look out for diamondbacks. This planned off and looks like Colubrina texana but the lead texture on P. texana is warty, never smooth and veiny. Flowers and fruits are a giveaway too but they are not always present
