I literally have NO CLUE what I am looking at here. I found 4 of these under a hardwood log. Each specimen was roughly 12-15 mm long. They seem to be skeletonized arthropods of some kind but for the life of me I can’t seem to make sense of what I’m seeing. They seem to have 10-11 pairs of appendages on their dorsal side but then 4 pairs of little appendages at the anterior end of their ventral side. Is there some kind of multispecies interaction here or what is going on. Literally I stared at these dead creatures for minutes without comprehending a thing

Clusters were laid on porch. Adult Summer Fishflies are common at the lights this time of year. Note the glowing club on each egg. It's reflected in the egg in front of it. They hatched 2 days (today) after first photo. More photos included.

Common Name: Opossum Shrimps
Location Found: On fold of laminaria saccharina at 12 feet at night.
Habitat Type: Thick folds of algae, deeper than 10ft, mostly active at night.
Physical Description: About two inches long, large protrusion on stomach, which is its most defining feature.
Fun Fact: They always look pregnant at first glance and will come check you out if you're using lights at night.

I'm uploading a series of images of the alderfly I captured on 5/13/17 in the Pat Mayse WMA in Lamar County. Based on measurements of the netting, this insect has an overall length of about 14 mm; body length is about 11 mm. This was captured off of vegetation (probably buttonbush) at the edge of the small pond along FM 1499 just north of the Sanders Creek bridge.
I've been reviewing the literature on alderflies. Among five species which have been recorded in Texas (Locklin 2008), I think I can narrow this ID down to one of three, but I'm going to contact an alderfly expert to have him take a look. More details to follow.
