I blame my father. He had a love for all things "nature". He forced me to watch Wild Kingdom as a child and I absolutely hated it. However without my consent he passed that gene on to me and I passed it on to my oldest daughter. It's a beautiful thing to see where your giftings come from so you can recognize and honor them. I am forever hunting to find the next prize. It's not just a hobby it's part of me, it's instinct. Since moving to Texas, four years ago from my hometown Seattle, I have a whole new terrain to discover and all that live within it. It's not my mountains and evergreens, but it's beauty is all here waiting for me.
I love Inaturalist b/c it gives me an outlet to catalog all my little treasures and a place to share them with like-minded people instead of boring all my friends who do not share this facet of my humanness.
